MEMBERS ONLY EXCLUSIVE EVENT

Be the first to see our new Feature Exhibition  "Geneva at Play"  exploring  the history of childhood through the toys, games, and pastimes that shaped generations of young people. Featuring artifacts from the Geneva History Museum's collections alongside special loans from members of the community, the exhibition traces how play has evolved from the nineteenth century to the digital age. Organized around themes such as imagination, creativity, learning, friendship, and technology, Geneva at Play reveals how toys reflect evolving ideas about childhood while highlighting the timeless role of play in our lives.

Special presentation at 6 PM "Tinkertoy's: The Imagination Factory" with Kris Hartzell, Director of Facilities, Visitor Services, and Collections at the Evanston History Center. She tells the story of how two self-styled "toy tinkers" turned a simple concept inspired by watching children playing with spools of thread and sticks into an iconic, timeless toy with cross-generational appeal. Explore the evolution of the business from its modest beginnings into a thriving manufacturer of a diverse collection of popular toys.

Appetizers and refreshments will be served.
