I used to work at WXFW IN Geneva, IL Sometime ago, I talked with someone via email about an event where old staffers could come and talk about the station. I wrote “Valley Voices ” the history of Chicago and suburban radio, and would be interested in participating. I know Jon Morgan and many others that also worked there.. Thanks.. I currently host Midwest Ballroom on WDCB.

Oh what a wonderful time for Geneva radio and I love the picture. We were a big part of people’s lives in the Fox Valley back in the day. I hope you have a great time with a fun discussion. I still live in the Fox Valley and remember those days with great fondness.

Todd – we wish you could have joined us, and your ears must have been ringing. It was a great panel sharing stories and memories. Our archives now have more information about the radio station than ever before!

Thanks for your comments, Bill. Jon Morgan talked about you assisting during the snow storm. Great stories!

Thanks Terry for inviting me to this excellent program. All of us former staffers enjoyed being there and retelling all the old stories about things that happened to us. The group is the last of the Fox Valley’s Real Broadcasters…It was also nice to meet Richard Peck again.
I should have mentioned that he once saved one of WFXW’s outdoor big band broadcast concerts. He had the right plug in his tool box that got the concert on the air. I enjoyed visiting with Jon Morgan, and Joy Wagner and the rest of the staff.. Sincerely, John “Radio:”
Russell Ghrist author of “Valley Voices” a history of radio and host of Midwest Ballroom on WDCB. I was a part-time and mostly weekend staffer at WFXW.
